Breast Cancer Network of WNY

the act or process of supporting a cause or proposal

By definition, advocacy is the act or process of supporting a cause or proposal. If the cause or proposal is ending breast cancer and supporting the people afflicted with it, then put us down for a strong dose of advocacy. The Breast Cancer Network of WNY has an active Advocacy Committee that researches and publishes information regarding treatment, funding, threats, environment, and all issues relative to breast cancer politics.

We believe that a cure for breast cancer is imminent but we refuse to wait around for it. Instead, BCN encourages everyone to get busy reading, researching, sharing, and communicating with government leaders to properly organize and fund breast cancer research.

Advocacy comes in different forms and shapes. It can be as simple as making a phone call or writing a letter to your congressman or legislator. Or you could volunteer for our Advocacy Committee and help us communicate our cause that way. To get more involved, contact Marcia Heaney at info@bcnwny.org.

The Advocacy Committee of BCN regularly publishes articles and statements regarding breast cancer issues. The articles are available below for you to read and share.
